Testimonials

Don’t just take our word

Star Group

Lana Battenhaussen

“We used the NZCIS Campus as a venue for our company’s first conference. All the facilities used, including the on-site accommodation and Bond and Murray rooms were exceptionally modern, clean, and well presented with incredibly helpful and efficient staff who provided both continual support and aided in the smooth running of the event. As a group of 80+, our needs were well catered for and we look forward to the opportunity to return!”

Wellington Phoenix

Lily Alfeld, Captain

"As the home base for New Zealand’s first professional women’s football team, NZCIS has not only provided our club world-class facilities to take every aspect of our game to the next level, they've been beyond incredible in promoting an inclusive environment that supports, celebrates and elevates females in sport!"

England - Rugby Football Union

Charlie Hayter, Head of Women's Performance

“NZCIS as a facility, and a performance team, could not have given a better platform from which to launch our NZ tour. The facilities are world-class, and every detail is thought through. This is matched by the people that helped to make the week a fantastic experience all around.”

Welsh Rugby Union

Huw Bevan, WRU Performance Director

"The NZCIS team made us feel very welcome at the excellent facility they have developed which demonstrates a deep understanding of the requirements of elite athletes and high performance teams. Based on our experience, and the feedback from both staff and players, I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the NZCIS or utilising the facility in future should we get the opportunity."

Wellington Phoenix

David Dome, General Manager

"There are some English Premier League clubs that don’t have access to some of the gear that’s in here, so it’s incredible to see what our teams will get to train with."

Black Ferns

Lauren Cournane, Manager

"Basing our Black Ferns assembly at NZCIS has allowed us to create efficiencies throughout the days we have together as a Team. With the accommodation, fields and performance facilities all in the one space – our transition time is less, allowing us more time together to focus on “team” (from a technical/tactical perspective, but also socially). The players love the accommodation and food, and the Coaches love how easy it is to access everything we need in the high performance facility for all our trainings. The recovery facilities of hot/cold plunge pools, watt bike room and gym space are key to the team’s training. We look forward to being back!"

NZ Netball

Irene Van Dyk, Youth Participation Manager

"To have a facility like this will make dreams come true, investing in the future of our athletes to reach their full potential."

New Zealand Football

Martin

"From our point of view NZCIS provided everything and more that we required and all staff were so helpful and accommodating with all our requests, I’ve only heard positive feedback from all the teams that took part. "

Sweden Women's National Team

Magnus Andersson, Team Manager

"NZCIS became like a home away from home for us in the team and the service level was first class. To have such a world class facility gave us all what we needed for the preparations for the World cup. The accommodation is the absolute best we ever had and to have the dining room and players lounge in the same room was a winning concept for us and really helped to get the group together. The changing room became our base before trainings and to have all things together such as treatment, changing and meeting made it very easy to have the daily operations up and going. The other facilities such as Gym, recovery and pitch has absolutely world class and there is not a thing that we would like to change in the set up. As the pitch is one of footballs most important things NZCIS delivered the best pitch in the tournament. We would from the bottom of our hearts thank the entire team at NZCIS for making our stay a pleasure and we recommend this facility to all teams around the world!"

Hurricanes

Avan Lee, CEO

"The fantastic world-class facility at NZCIS has already added real value to the Hurricanes and our teams. We know that will only increase over time."

New Zealand Boxing

Ali

“Really Appreciate the late check-out – very accommodating. Overall, a great experience. Thank you!”

Z Energy Limited

Jared Quinn

"The Z Energy supply chain spent an immersive day at NZCIS, experiencing an environment where high performance is the top priority. This was a unique opportunity to take our team out of an often boring/typical corporate offsite and shake things up. We were treated to our own private lounge/dining room, amazing food, thought provoking speakers and a whole lot of fun at the Performance Institute (nothing beats a bit of healthy competition). The focus for the day was high performing teams and that's exactly what we were given. The facility is world class, easy to travel to and from Wellington city, close to public transport and a place where time goes by fast. If we were all able to call this our workplace we would live happier lives."

dsport

Dr Catriona McBean, Manager

"We did it! The team at NZCIS all came on board with our audacious plan to host the World Wheelchair Rugby Paralympic Qualification Tournament 2024, the first time in New Zealand had hosted an international wheelchair rugby competition in nearly 20 years. Not only did they accommodate nearly 90 wheelchair users and 60 team staff in The Village apartments, they also brought into the idea of transforming an indoor artificial turf into an international wheelchair rugby competition venue. In a world first a portable basketball court was laid in the Greenroom and a venue within a venue was built. Hosting a Para sport event requires an understanding of the nuances and additional needs of wheelchair users and the team at NZCIS rose to the occasion. Without a doubt all the staff across all the facility - from high performance, accommodation and catering - represented the kaupapa and whanaungatanga New Zealand is renowned for and made the Para athletes and team staff more than welcome. The feedback we received from athletes and team staff was full of high praise and we would definitely use NZCIS again for Para sport events if we had the opportunity."

New Zealand Police

Fiona

“I would like to say a big thank you to you and your staff, especially the cleaners! There were some interesting challenges over the 9 weeks ( on our side not yours). The facilities and service were excellent and we look forward to doing business with you in the future”.

College Sport Wellington

David Fa’atafa, Sport & Project Manager

"I would also like to thank everyone for allowing secondary school rugby to be played at NZCIS. The feedback from everyone involved (teams, coaches, managers, spectators etc) has been nothing but positive and gratitude to being allowed to play at this world class venue."

Wellington Phoenix

Ufuk Talay, Former Phoenix Coach

“The venue is sensational. I think it’s going to be great when the other sports teams will be in here, and I think there will be a lot of opportunities to collaborate”.

The Adelaide Football Club

Adam Kelly, Executive General Manager Football

"The NZCIS facilities are first class in every aspect. The accommodation provision, meeting spaces, indoor and outdoor training spaces, gym and recovery areas are at an elite standard and would certainly meet the needs of a professional sporting team. Additionally, the staff at NZCIS were a pleasure to deal with, eager to assist and service with a smile. NZCIS must be a source of pride for New Zealand sport and it is a place to be considered for any international professional sporting team looking to take their athletes away from home for an overseas experience."

Hutt International Boys School

Jess Anderton & Craig Johnson

"We can't speak any more highly of NZCIS and their support of our school: Hutt International Boys' School. Firstly, the world-class facilities played a huge part in our First XV making the Semi Finals for the first time in our School's history; we are so fortunate to call NZCIS "Home". However, there are so many more opportunities for our school with Workshops and presentations for our Economics and Business classes, as well as fantastic conference facilities to host Professional Development Sessions and the Accommodation facilities are ideal for hosting Sports Tours."
