About

conceive, believe, achieve

The New Zealand Campus of Innovation and Sport has grown from our passion for Wellington. A unique facility designed to put this region, and our people on the world-stage. This is a one-of-a-kind destination for athletes, community groups and corporate guests seeking a unique and unrivalled experience.

Located in Upper Hutt, on the former site of the Central Institute of Technology, the land and buildings were purchased by Malcolm Gillies and Kevin Melville in 2016 and have since been developed into a world-class unique facility providing a range of offerings including conferencing, accommodation, commercial office space, and the impressive Performance Institute.

Set in park like grounds the campus is a hive of activity with a variety of accommodation blocks catering to individuals or large groups visiting for short or long stays. With over 200 beds, NZCIS is the largest ‘hotel’ in Wellington catering to all budgets from our shared dorm style accommodation wings to our 50 brand new two bed apartments.
Our Conference Centre offers a variety of spaces, from small meeting rooms to our spacious 300sqm Bond and Murray Rooms. All tech and AV requirements can be provided upon request.

Our dining hall can accommodate up to 200 people in one sitting. For a more intimate dining experience, we have alternative serveries and private kitchen options for hire. Our menus cater to all dietary requirements, from three meals a day to Board Room lunches and canapé functions.

With well-appointed, sparkling clean rooms, free Wi-Fi, on-site parking, and access to the YMCA on campus, the NZ Campus of Innovation and Sport has everything you need to feel at home.
We are uniquely positioned bringing sport, business and community all together on one campus. While our buildings have been repurposed and transformed we have retained all of the original CIT layout, incorporating new accommodation and high tech learning and training spaces into a world class facility. We consulted mana whenua and our local community to establish our core values which embody inclusion, belonging, and hope. Values that we believe are important to everyone!
